Standards CD ROM - Release 2 (April 2006) |
|
Using the CD ROM The Construction Standards CD ROM is designed to function like a website. There are three buttons at the top left hand side of the screen (Home, Calculators* and Help) which provide basic functions. In addition to these, further options are presented on the screen below the blue band in the form of larger navigation boxes which can be used to access specific parts of the Construction Standards. To navigate through the CD ROM, simply left-click on the selection you wish to make. The Home button can be used to return to the primary screen that provides access to the Construction Standards. To access the Construction Standards, simply select the desired set of Standards from the Home screen (ie. Less than 15 metre standards or 15 to 24 metre standards). The individual parts that relate to those Standards will then appear on screen. Select which part you wish to view and it will open as a pdf document for you to browse. If you wish to go back to the part selection screen from the pdf document, simply left-click on the BACK option at the top left hand side of the screen. Each part (or pdf document) is bookmarked to allow quick navigation. Left-click on the BOOKMARKS tab at the left hand side of the screen and a list of the sections in that document will appear. Select the section you wish to view and the link will take you to that point in the document. * Please note that the Calculators function will only work if you have Microsoft Excel installed on your PC. Adobe Reader You will need Adobe Reader installed on your PC in order to view the Construction Standards. This may already be installed on your PC, however, if it isn't (if the Standards do not open) then a link is provided below to take you to the relevant website should you wish to install it - please note that an internet connection is required for this.
